ABOUT
#iNDEEvent

It’s 2020 and comic conventions, shops, stadiums, and a host of other public venues had to close, cancel or postpone. Independent creators have had to pivot and find a way to eke out a way to survive. Indiependence Con, easily remembered as iNDEEvent, is birthed from the idea of creatives uplifting each other through networking opportunities, a broader outreach, and finding ways to support one another.

A Community Comes Together

In April 2020, Geek Insider launched a small event called Geek Out Virtual Con with a goal to promote the geek community and entertain our audience. Since then, we’ve made some amazing connections in the entertainment industry. The goal remains the same but this time we have outstanding event collaborators.

We’re taking existing shows and creating valuable panels to engage our audience under the umbrella of this weekend event.

Explaining the Double-E in INDEE

The double-E in iNDEE is inspired by creator of award-winning comic, CatDad & SuperMom, Mr. Rob Andersin. His video explains it. In a nutshell, there aren’t two i’s when INDEPENDENT is spelled out. “Indies” do so much better when they embrace a community. Take out the “i” – replace it with “E” for WE and it makes more sense.

Fundamental Goals

Entertainment

Watch. Interact. Listen. Learn. This event has a plethora of personalities from multiple areas of entertainment; from author interviews, comic books, evergreen topics, music and more.

Pay-It-Forward

Part of the value proposition is helping others who really need it. We make up the independent industry and often don’t have the resources to do big things but, when we come together we can move mountains.

The Pay-It-Forward initiative is a call-to-action to help one another with 4 simple actions: Subscribe, Like, Share, and Interact. That’s how we grow together.

Networking

Whether you are in the comics, music, publishing or film industry, independent creators often struggle with finding an audience. iNDEEvent hopes to increase your viewership with this networking opportunity. It’s easy. All you have to do is tune in and interact. Be yourself and have fun. You never know when your next opportunity will come. Be proactive and find your people.

Value Proposition

What’s in it for me?

That’s a fair question. The truth is by networking with more people we all have an opportunity to grow our networks and promote our works to a broader audience. The more eyes on us the greater chance to make a sale, lock in a sponsor, and influence a growing industry.

Do I have to pay to host an hour block?

Absolutely not! Our guests are bringing their own show to this weekend event. They have creative license to operate their show as they see fit.

Our goal is for everyone to build their network, find new friends and fans, and generate interest in each other.

You can’t put a price tag on that.

Do I have to pay to watch?

No. This event is free to watch. You “pay” by tuning in, liking the content, interacting on the various shows, and sharing it out with your friends.

Some shows may have tip jars but no one is obliged to donate.

How does iNDEEvent work?

iNDEEvent is comprised of existing shows that many people already enjoy but we’re gathering under one banner weekend.

Each show or panel is filling an hour which will be streamed through their own service. The iNDEE network endeavors to share these with their own audience.

As Brian K. Morris loves to say, “A rising tide raises all ships.”

How can I participate in this event?
